MEET TED MACNAMARA,
SARS NEW JUNIOR SKI RACE COACH:
I grew up ski racing
in Colorado and my passion for the sport has kept me from pursuing a
more "typical" career path. While most of my
childhood friends stare at computer screens and battle the morning
commute, I put my Master's degree in education to work on the
snow-covered classroom. I have held many different jobs in and around
the ski industry; hotel operations, snow-making, ski instructor, and ski
patrolman to name a few, but coaching ski racing is my favorite by far.
I also love my family. We just moved to Sandpoint from Red Lodge,
Montana where I was most recently the Program Director and Head Coach
for the Silver Run Ski Team. My wife will be teaching first grade here
in Sandpoint, my daughter will be starting seventh grade and my son will
start first grade this year. We think this place is great so far and are
looking forward to getting to know the area better.

"We started a non-profit foundation a few months
ago to help find a cure for Cystinosis. That’s what my son Henry has.
Anyway we have been working with Schweitzer and will be having a ski
event January 30th and 31st, 24 Hours of
Schweitzer. In addition we are doing a 24 hour road ride September 6th
and 7th here is Sandpoint."
